Obituary for Bernard Ray "Bernie" Naill
Bernard “Bernie” Ray Naill, 81, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away on January 16, 2023, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Naill is survived by his wife Janet Naill who he was married to for 63 years.
He was born April 7, 1941, in Maryland, the son of the late Clarence Naill and the late Myrtle Naill (Runkles).
Bernard spent 65 years as a roofer. He only completed his education to the 7th grade. He loved to spend his time hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing cards. More than anything he loved spending his time with his wife and family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Emma “Bun” & husband Calvin Collis, II, Jerry & wife Evangeline Naill, Becky & husband Scott King, and Faith & husband Alvie Lowe, Jr. Also survived by 12 grandchildren Casey Collis, Matthew & wife Jess Collis, Bern & wife Samantha Collis, Samson Naill, Ryan Naill & fiancé Sam, Jimmy & wife Shaina Forosisky, Jesse Naill & fiancé Brianna, Nathan & wife Riane King, Josh & wife Sabrina King, Taylor & husband Josh Myers, Laura Lowe, and Timmy Lowe and 17 great-grandchildren. He is the brother of Shirley Barnard, Ernest Naill and Joan & husband Robert Schafer.
Preceded in death by his son Edward Naill and siblings Sterling Shane, Kenneth Shane, Margaret Naill, Herman Naill, Fred Naill, Rocky Naill, Wilford Naill, Raymond Naill, Mildred Hawkins, Audrey Sparkman, Thomas Naill and Hilda Hane.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 23, 2023, at 11 AM at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren 13356 Glissans Mill Rd, Mt Airy, MD 21771.
