Obituary for Carol June Mentzell (Boteler)
Carol J. Mentzell, 75 of Taylorsville, MD, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at her home. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Eugene Mentzell for 53 years.
Carol was born on February 25, 1947, in Baltimore, MD, to Melvin William Boteler and Sylvia (Press) Boteler.
Surviving Carol, in addition to her husband are her brother, Melvin Barry Boteler in Glen Burnie, MD and two sons Jonathan and Gregory. Jonathan Brant Mentzell, his wife Kimberly Ann, and their four sons Zachary Joseph, Alexander William, Nicholas George and Thomas Stanley Mentzell reside in Middletown, MD. Gregory James Mentzell, his wife Christy Anne, and stepdaughter Morrighan live in Franklin, IN.
Carol enjoyed gardening, silk flower arrangements and always be remembered for her ornate and perfectly wrapped Christmas packages. Carol worked for the Carroll Kennel Club and taught classes at the South Carroll High School next door.
Carol was a generous, compassionate person whose contributions made the world a little brighter.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 6-8 PM and Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at which time the funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. (Beside South Carroll High School).
