Charles Crist, known to family and friends as Charlie or Bud died peacefully on February 5, 2021.

He was 94 years old, born on July 7, 1926 in Baltimore to Lydia and Charles Crist. He was a distinguished Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 63rd infantry division in Europe and decorated for his service during combat.

Returning to civilian life after the war, he became a salesman. He excelled in part because of his personal touch; easily remembering people by name and asking about their families or work. This characteristic stayed with him throughout his life. He ended his career as an on-site salesman with Hilti Tools.

He will be remembered as a good neighbor and friend. Neighbors are quick to remember him sitting on his front porch with his dog. He lived in his Randallstown home for over 60 years and was an active member of Granite Presbyterian Church. Bud was always there for his neighbors helping them in many ways. Into his 90’s you would find him and his snow blower clearing the neighbors’ driveways in winter, or providing transportation for others as needed.

During the summer months, Buddy and his wife, June, headed for River Bend Campground in West Virginia. They headed south in their RV when winter came.
June, the love of his life, died in July 2009. His only sister, Audrey Crist Tignor, and his brother-in-law, Thomas P. Tignor, of Richmond VA also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his only relative, Carol Tignor Uzzle, of Goochland VA and her husband, Russell Uzzle, their sons Scott and Jonathan, and their families. He is also survived by many neighbors and friends who lovingly cared for him, especially during the last few weeks.

Burial will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Granite Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. We ask that you abide by Covid safety measures – please wear a mask and observe social distancing

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Granite Presbyterian Church, 10637 Old Court Road, Woodstock, MD 21163.

Bud was a wonderful neighbor at the river. He was always ready to help anyone with a project and loved to give treats to all of the dogs in the neighborhood. He was great at horseshoes, and even had his own court on his lot. We’d hear him out there practicing, and we’d hear ringer after ringer! He will be missed! Rest In Peace with June.
