Cheryl Harrison Day of Woodbine joined her heavenly family Sunday, July 19, 2020. Those who knew and loved Cheri understand what an incredible reunion this was with so many whom she loved and adored. She was born August 30, 1948, in Frederick, Maryland, to parents Robert and Winnie (Haines) Harrison and was a beloved member of a very large and loving extended family.

Cheri was a compassionate spirit whose faith and service to others was paramount throughout much of her life. Her involvement with the children’s ministry at church and her years at Westminster Christian Book Store gave Cheri the opportunity to impact others in such a positive way. Those who were recipients of her love will never forget how incredibly special she was.

She is survived by her son, Greg Day, and wife Alex, along with her daughter, Joelle Wilson, and husband Todd, and grandchildren Elle and Harrison, and her sister Debbie Fulton, husband Ed and family, all with whom her love will live on in.

A private burial will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Woodbine, Maryland, and a celebration of Cheri’s life will take place at a later date once it is safe to do so. Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring of love they have received. We encourage those who would like to honor her life donate to Together We Own It, a nonprofit organization located in Westminster, Maryland, that works with children and families in our community to break the cycle of poverty, trauma, and mental illness by providing a stable and supportive environment, full of opportunity.

I was a friend during Cheri’s 4-H days in Carroll Co. & later at the Univ. Of MD. It may truly be said that there was no sweeter or more thoughtful person. To all those who love her, know that her love continues to be a present & living force in your lives. God bless & comfort you. Marian Metcalfe Fry

What a terrible loss to her family and many, many friends. We worked with Cheri for many years in the K, 1, and 2nd grades at Church. She was always so patient and kind with the children. To say that Cheri will be missed is quite an understatement.

My memories of Cheri are of her enormous generosity. She shared her daughter with me- and I am forever grateful. On the day of Joelle's Tea Party Bridal Shower, Cheri joined in the festivities, donned a tea party hat, and smiled with her love for Joelle the entire afternoon. Our family is deeply sorry for her loss. She lives on in the big beautiful heart of Joelle, Elle, and Harrison.

So sorry to learn of Cheri’s passing. We had many good times in school and playing with the Harrison families on her farm. Her Mom was one of my favorite teachers— My Dad was principal at Winfield. It’s never easy to lose a Mother. My condolences to the family at this sad time. May she Rest In Peace!

I recall as Juniors when we were decorating for the prom, Cheri and I went to the bowling alley my father owned to borrow a big ladder. When we walked in my father being one of Mt Airy’s biggest pranksters hollered at Cheri “ so you are the girl that is keeping my son out to all hours of the night”. I had to quickly explain that she was not my girlfriend. I am sure Cheri was amused at the thought of that, but being the nice person that she was, she didn’t make anything of my father’s mistake.
