Any remembrance of Denny should always start with a song which was part of who he was. The song by the Teddy Bears was “To Know Him is to Love Him” and believe me, that is my recollection of my friend “the Bear.”
His infectious personality, his clever wit, his strange taste in music was always a treat. Sometimes it was just having a beer at the ocean or doing something stupid that we shouldn’t have been doing, which happened frequently but was always great fun.
To have a friend for a time in your life is a great joy. To have a friend like Denny for your lifetime is a blessing that I am ever thankful for.
I will drink one today in his honor. Rest in peace my friend “the bear,” you will always be in my heart.
