On Friday December 6, 2019, surrounded by her loving family and a few very close friends, Dorothy Schuster (Greggs) passed away at Acts Copper Ridge in Sykesville, MD. Almost 3 years to the day after our start of the walk with dementia she was able to beat the disease and escape to be in a better place with our Lord.

Dottie moved to the Washington D.C. area following high school and worked for Travelers Insurance Company. She met Louis F Schuster Jr and they married in 1948. They had three children, Stephen Eric, Charles Frederick and Karyn Maria.

Dottie worked for the University of Maryland as an Executive Assistant for over a decade. She was a bobbin lace creator, loved to do needle point, sew, and braid wool rugs. She was part of a lacer's group that created a lace tablecloth for the Governor’s home in Annapolis MD during the William Donald Schaeffer administration, demonstrated bobbin lace at the Montgomery County Fair as well as other locations in Maryland and at lacing conferences along the east coast.
Dottie and Lou resided in Adelphi Maryland prior to moving to Glenwood Maryland. She was active in several churches and volunteered in her children’s schools for many years. She enjoyed travel to the American West, England and Scotland, and the Caribbean Isles. Dottie was a master chef, creating delicious holiday meals that were always completed with tasty deserts and an assortment of cookies.
