Duane was and is my friend i may have been out of contact for way to long but i still thought about him and his family. i still tell stories about times we spent in our medieval group together and table top games we played and the time i spent living with him and his family. when i used to work with him he was always ready to make a wise crack (often at my expense) and share a joke or 2. i know that he so deeply loved his kids and would have gone through anything with a smile on his face for them. i wish i could have seen the goofy smile on his face when he first met his granddaughter im sure he was brought to tears with pride and happiness. we always take comfort in knowing our friends are there even if we don't talk to them as much as we should i feel a empty spot in me now that i know can in no way compare to the one his family feels but i wish i would have picked up the phone and talked if for nothing else but old times sake
Duane you will be missed more than you know

To my best friend in the entire world,

It's been 4 days, 5 hours, and 23 minutes since you took your last breath. I don't know how I'll live without you, but I know I'll have to learn, and I eventually will. I have been blessed to have you in my life. You are my world, my rock, my mentor, my heart, my best friend, and the best father a girl could ever ask for. It has been a dream being your daughter. You have been my biggest support system, and I will cherish all of the memories I was lucky enough to have with you. I can't wait until we meet again, daddy.

With all of my love,
Your little girl.
