Obituary for Flora Blanche Coddington

Flora Blanche Coddington (Strawser) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on August 15, 2022 at the young age of 74.

She was born to the late Charles and Nelda Strawser in Eagle Rock, MD on August 4, 1948. After graduating high school, Flora fell in love and married her sweetheart the late Jack Coddington. They enjoyed 44 years together and built their family rooted in their love of Jesus and serving Him.

She retired from being a food service employee in the Prince George’s County School system. She attended Cross Life Bible Church where she enjoyed sharing her faith in Christ by teaching and serving in the Good News Club and Vacation Bible Schools. She also enjoyed taking part in various activities of the church's senior group, Joyful Pilgrims, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Flora is survived by her children and their spouses: Cindy and Bob Barlow, Rebecca and Everett Tyler, Jr., grandchildren Ethan Barlow and wife Ellen, Rachel Barlow, Madison Tyler, and Frank Tyler. Flora was preceded in death by her sister Darlene Moon and is survived by her siblings Naomi Wolf, Charles “Pete” Strawser, and Sharon Webster.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School) and on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Cross Life Bible Church from 11:00 a.m.- Noon.

Funeral Services will take place at Cross Life Bible Church, 2127 W. Old Liberty Rd. Westminster, MD 21157 on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Noon, with Pastor Quintin Merson officiating. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
