Obituary

Tuesday, October 6, 2020, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother Gilbert ‘Gil’ Francis Blanchfield passed away in Carroll County.

Gil was born in Baltimore, MD on August 19, 1932 to the late John and Mary Blanchfield. I had many good memories of Uncle Gilbert and he always had a smile on his face. One such memory was him letting me drive the old John Deere tractor when he was plowing my Grandmothers field. I was 4 or 5 at the time. He was always working on the tractor or in the field. My Thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Beverly and to all my cousins. Love Gregory

I grew up living near Uncle Gilbert, he was always in our life. He was a favorite Uncle of mine. I remember him and his brother Johnny making peach brady and playing pool in my Grandmothers basement. They were really funny characters when they were together. The last time I saw him we had lunch with his daughter, Brenda, her husband Bob, Beverly, his wife, my Mom, his sister, and me and my husband Mark. He will truly be missed by his family. He is once again with his Mother, sister, brothers, and his son, Tony in heaven. Rest in Peace, Uncle Gil. We love you.....
