Obituary for Janet Ann Gwyn (House)
Janet Ann Gwyn, 80, of Sykesville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Janet was born in Wellstown, Ohio on July 2, 1942 to the late Miles and Marcena House. She was predeceased by brothers, Homer and Willie and in 2011 by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ron Gwyn.
Janet was loved by all and left her mark on anyone she met. She was an energetic and creative preschool teacher for over 30 years. At the time of her passing, she had been serving for many years as the devoted church secretary and treasurer at her home church, Winfield Bible Chapel. In addition, she was an extraordinary homemaker. She was a fabulous cook and baked and decorated cakes for years. She had a passion for serving others. Her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident to everyone who knew her by the way she selflessly loved. Janet dearly loved her family and her church. She will be greatly missed by many including her son, Kevin Gwyn of Somerset, PA, her daughter and best friend, Kim Gwyn of Sykesville, and her son, Keith Gwyn of Fort Collins, CO. She was a devoted grandmother to Kayla (David) Surdich, Brady Whirley, Jessica (Mich) Mendez, Samantha (Garrett) Collins, and Scott Gwyn and 4 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister Christine House of Columbus, Ohio and her brother Paul (Sue) House from Lebanon, Ohio. Friends may visit the family on Friday, January 6th from 6 to 8 PM at Winfield Bible Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11 AM at Winfield Bible Chapel, 5407 Woodbine Rd. Woodbine, MD 21797 with Pastor Kim Gee officiating.
