Joseph Lee Mayne, Sr., 91 of Mt. Airy, MD died on Monday, August 10, 2020 at The Kline Hospice House in Frederick, MD.
He was born February 13, 1929 in Howard County, MD, the son of the late William Mayne and the late Mary Mayne (nee Shipley).
He was the husband of the late Betty Lee Helen Mayne (nee Hatmaker).
He owned Joseph Mayne Well Drilling Company and enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing & raising thoroughbred horses. He liked trap shooting and fishing.
Surviving are children, Joseph Mayne, Jr. of Mt. Airy, MD and his late wife Patricia, John Edward Mayne of Poplar Springs, MD, Donald Mayne and wife Eileen of Westminster, Larry Mayne and wife Gail of Mt. Airy, MD and Judy Guinn and husband Richard of Shepherdstown, WV. He was the brother of Mary Etta and the late Louise, Pete, Ralph, Bill, Doris, Bobby, Gilbert, Francis. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and two late grandchildren.
Graveside service will be on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Poplar Springs Cemetery, 915 East Watersville Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kline Hospice House 7000 Kimmel Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771
