Our hearts and my heart is made saddened by the loss of my oldest uncle Joe but I take with me the memories of him and of my father to be my sunshine after the rain I remember how close he and my father Robert Lee Dorsey, was I remember that close bond that they had working on cars and always working together on my grandpa this farm I remember all the hunting trips and I also remember how hurt he was when my father passed away I remember him telling me that things just don’t seem the same anymore now that your father is gone and I remember his heart felt pain when his wife Mary Frances passed away but I also remember the more joyous occasion I remember all the cookouts the family used to have all the big family reunions that the family used to have and just getting together because they were family just to share and be around each of us I remember all those beautiful and fun Christmases that we shared at the big farm house in Sandy Spring I remember every great moment of my life that my uncle Joe was always there my graduation from high school by weddings and other happy occasions I remember when I was just a teeny little kid uncle Joe gave me my first dog it was a little puppy we named that dog Wegge I remember the trips with my grandfather and my father and my uncle Joe and other family members and my cousins would go squirrel hunting and rabbit hunting I also remember when the radiator exploded on my fathers old car that all the soda and I was standing there and I remember uncle Joe crawling on the ground to pull me to save this so I would not get scolded to death I also remember the Hopkins chapel picnic I remember how my father and my uncle Joe would always meet in that field and park beside one another at the picnic I also remember all the baseball games in the family baseball games we played at those family viewing is just before we sit down to eat and I remember as I got older as an adult I remember him teaching me about deer hunting and him telling me how to Salt heron fish to dissolve the bones I also remember all the fathers days fishing trips where we would go out on the boats and he and I would talk and he would teach me about World War II and talk to me about what he did in the army and the type of jobs that he had in the army and I remember every time I would see him out and about at places it was always a joy just seeing his pretty smile and hearing his gentle voice I remember him when he was singing with the Browns chapel choir I remember being so proud of him I was telling everybody yes that’s my uncle right there and now that he is gone things just don’t seem to same anymore without him it’s theirs up old wounds in my heart it reminds me of my father‘s passing and brings back those sad memories you know you never really understand how much you love someone until they’re gone and today it feels like I lost my father once again because he was like a father to me a second father to me I think God for putting him in my life and I thank God for. Keeping him in my life all these years now he’s with his wife his brothers and his sisters and his mother and father I know it must’ve been one heck of a fan of the reunion the day he passed so I offer all my love and my strength and my condolences to uncle Joe’s immediate family and my two aunts and my uncle who had left I pray to God that he bless you and keep you all in good health 🙏✝️❤️
