Obituary for Kenneth Dale Haines Sr.
Kenneth Dale Haines, Sr. 72 of Sykesville, MD
Passed Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at his and his wife’s home. He was the Beloved husband of 51 ½ years to Linda Sue Snyder Haines. He was born July 4, 1949 in Eldersburg, MD the son of the late Claude Edward Haines, Sr. and the late Gladys Marie Milter Haines.
Mr. Haines had numerous jobs including Springfield State Hospital, retiring from Westinghouse and nearing retirement as a mobile Crane operator/truck driver for 36 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Yard. He also held numerous side jobs: Blue Flame, George’s Super Thrift, Sykesville ARCO and Hughes Hardware. Ken was a veteran of the US Navy serving during Vietnam and a member of Sykesville American Legion Memorial Post #223. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Devoted father of Kenneth D. and wife Gerri Haines, Jr., Preceded in death by son William E. Haines, brother Claude E. Haines, sisters Betty Collins, Peggy Hollen and Dorothy Utz.
Also surviving is sister Barbara Beck, grandchildren Taylor Tyser (Austin) and Levi Haines. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 24, 2022 3 to 6 pm with Military Honors and an American Legion Service at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784
