Obituary for Lawrence G. Loper

Lawrence Gilmore Loper, 95 of Homewood at Plum Creek, formerly of Randallstown, MD
Passed peacefully Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Homewood. Beloved husband of Marie (Righter) Loper. He was born December 17th, 1926, in Meadville, PA the son of the late Clark M. Loper and Anna Belle (Carey) Loper.
Larry grew up in Sykesville, Maryland after his family moved there when his father was hired to manage the Fair Haven Farm. After High School, Larry served in the Army as a Sergeant in Korea during World War II. After returning from Korea, he attended and graduated from Western Maryland College before working as a Manufacturing Engineer at Koppers Company in Glen Arm.
Larry served as an Elder at Mount Paran Presbyterian Church in Randallstown, MD., and later at Carroll Community Church in Sykesville, MD. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Devoted father of Richard and wife Susan Loper, Sharon and husband John Schutt, Lauren and husband Russ Decker. Dear brother of the late Dr. Kenneth Loper, late Dr. John Loper and survived by Dr. Gerald Loper and sister Nancy Geiger. Loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Paran Presbyterrian Church. Interment immediately following at Mt. Paran Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
