Obituary for Lillian P. Nelson (Jason )

Lillian Pearl Nelson, age 96, of Sykesville, MD was born in Winfield, Maryland on January 7, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Sophie Jason. She departed this world on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was married to her devoted husband and best friend of 52 years, the late Moses Alfred Nelson who she affectionately called “Nelson”.

She was raised and educated in Carroll County. She attended and graduated from Robert Moton High School in Westminster, Maryland. As a child, Lillian attended Sunday School in Winfield and at Fairview United Methodist Church. In adulthood, she became a member of Fairview and maintained her membership there until her demise. She was a loyal and faithful member.

Lillian was a former employee of both Northwest Hospital and Glenelg Country School.

Lillian found great pleasure in going for rides just about anywhere. She had a great passion for shopping for anything, always looking for sales. She loved spending time with her countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Moses, sisters; Della, Gladys, Mabel, Estelle, and Dorothy, and brothers; Wilbur, Walter, Fred, Edward and Leroy. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, beloved step-son Raymond Nelson & daughter-in-law Tanya Nelson; 3 loving grandchildren Mardi Bishop (husband Randy), Loren Nelson and Brenden Nelson; 2 great grandchildren Aiden and Adara; a sister-in-law Barbara Jason; special nieces Christine Jason, Jackie Brown (husband Terry), Valerie Myers (husband Jeff), Brandi Jason, Delorse Jason, and Tyra Williams (husband Shawn); special nephews Demontre Owens (wife Joyce), Jeff Jason (wife Donna) and Walter Jason; a dear friend Jackie Costley; and a large host of relatives and friends. She was truly a loving person, who never had biological children but was loved, cherished, and adored by everyone’s children. Lillian left this life as she lived it, her own way. To that we say, To God Be The Glory!
