Obituary for Linda Louise Chapman

Linda Louise Chapman, 76, of Sykesville died peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Born April 5, 1946, in Daniels, MD she was the daughter of the late Odus Clinton and Mary Catherine Rohrback.
Linda married the love of her life, the late Robert Bovelle Chapman when she was 18. They met at the old Dorsey Speedway and the first time she saw him working on a race car, she knew he was the one for her. Together they worked in the textile industry, first at C.R. Daniels, then Head Sportswear, English American and Joseph Banks. They also purchased and operated an apartment building on Main St. in Sykesville for 30 years before retiring and moving to the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Sevierville, TN. Linda and Bob were truly inseparable. When her dear husband passed away in November 2021, Linda moved back to Sykesville to be closer to family.
Linda enjoyed crafting and sewing, the mountains of Tennessee, black bears and a good cup of hot tea. In her younger days she loved ceramics and macrame. Most recently she enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds outside her apartment.
She is survived by one brother, Eugene Rohrback of Pikesville, MD, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Linda is also survived by nieces Sharon Groomes of Falling Waters, WVA, Diane Shugars of Westminster, MD and Virginia Keiser of Finksburg, MD to whom she was a cherished second mother.
She was predeceased by her infant son, brothers Jack, Elmer, and Howard Rohrback and sisters Lucille Rhodes and Alberta Collins.
Services will be private. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved Bob in East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
