Obituary for Lorraine A. Fitzwater (Shipe)
Lorraine Agnes Fitzwater (nee Shipe), age 88, of New Windsor, MD., died Sunday, February 6, 2022, at her home.
She was born August 18, 1933, in Detrick, VA, the daughter of the late Fred Shipe and the late Lerline Shipe (nee Stinson).
She was the wife of the late Wilmer “Jack” Fitzwater, which died Feb. 6, 2005, married for 47 years.
She was raised in Randallstown graduated from Plainfield Academy in New Jersey; she then got a job at Maryland Trust Co. in Baltimore when she finished high School. Later she had jobs at Springfield Hospital, Westminster Nursing Home, and then cared for several different families in their homes till she retired in 2004.
She was a member of the Westminster Seventh-day Adventist Church. She loved to go for walks, garden, cooking and baking bread and her famous rolls.
She was the loving Mother of daughter Donna Fitzwater and Larry Devilbiss of New Windsor, daughter Doris Bowen of Littlestown, PA, daughter Carole and Marty Spielman of New Windsor and son Darrin Fitzwater and Suzanne King of Finksburg. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Belle Yohn of Hanover, PA and Pat Spencer of Sykesville, MD: sister-in-law Dawn Zepp and brother-in-law Bruce Fitzwater and wife Bonnie Fitzwater.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandson Rylee Emge.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 1:00 PM with a viewing prior to the service from 12 noon till 1 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
Interment Taylorsville U.M. Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, MD
