Obituary for Michael Anthony Stephan

Berlin, MD – Michael Anthony Stephan, 51, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, after a courageous battle. He was the husband of Amy (Hackler) Stephan, sharing 27 years of marriage and three children.
Born on May 6, 1971, in Baltimore, MD, Mike was the son of Stephen J. and Eileen B. (Morrison) Stephan of Reisterstown, MD. In addition to his wife and parents, Mike is survived by three children, Samantha, Sarah, and Grant; brother Patrick Stephan (Kym), of Fairfield, PA; brother Joseph Stephan (Kacee), of Reisterstown, MD; brother Christopher Stephan (Mary Chris), of Manchester, MD; sister Anne Stephan of Westminster, MD; sister Kathleen Stephan (Morris), of Finksburg, MD; sister Eileen LaManca (Jeff) of Gambrills, MD; sister Elizabeth Resch (Kenneth), of Glen Rock, PA; sister-in-law Karen Stephan of York, PA; father-in-law Lester Hackler of Sparks, MD; sister-in-law Crystal Ellwood (Dustin) of White Hall, MD; sister-in-law Kelly Low (Mark) of Freeland, MD.
He is also survived by nephews and nieces Ronie (Nick), Joe (Grace), Chris (Victoria), Bridget, Zach (Shannon), Jake, Sam, Hannah, Holly, Nick, Ella, Emily, Stephen, Izzy, Stella, Nora, Allison and great-niece Luna and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him, including his fur-baby, Cleo.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Stephan and mother-in-law Joyce Harmon.
He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Ocean City, Maryland. Mike was a fun loving and hard-working, dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Every person in the world to him was just a friend he hadn’t met yet. He loved crabbing at the shore with his family and was a loving and attentive father and a best friend to his wife.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon MD 21071 with Rev. Jerry Francik as celebrant.
