Obituary for Paul B Thomson

Paul Bissell Thomson, age 91, of Mount Airy Maryland, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones April 6, 2022.
He was born on November 19, 1930, in Sandstone, Minnesota to the late Ray and Eunice Thomson. He was preceded in death by brother Elmer Thomson and sister Lois Holmes.
He is survived by his loving wife Bette Lou (Manning) Thomson of 62 years, his four children; Robin (Bradley Bonham), Randy (Stacy) Thomson, Holly (Jesse) Trevino, and Jennifer (James) Puckett, and his 10 grandchildren; Tony and Tammy Thomson, Jeffrey and Leslie (Cowell) Bonham, Haley, Kady and Alex Trevino, Morgan, Chase and Brooke Puckett, and his great grandson, Blake Cowell.
After high school, Paul worked in North Dakota Garrison Dam as an Engineers aid. He then enlisted and served in the U.S. Army as a cryptographer. Paul graduated from the University of Minnesota, and went on to earn a Masters degree from the University of Maryland. Paul worked a full career as a Food & Drug Inspector first for the U.S. Government and then for the State of Texas. Paul’s career with the Federal Government allowed him to move his family to numerous exciting locations including Bowie, Maryland, upstate New York, Puerto Rico, and then finally to South Texas where he settled down.
After serving in the army, Paul obtained a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his Humbert airplane. Paul enjoyed gardening, wood working, traveling, and he loved to read books.
Paul Thomson loved his Lord and Savior. He served as a deacon in many of the
churches where he and his family lived. He was a prayer warrior. He was a loving
husband, a devoted father and a faithful provider. Humble, quiet, and strong he was an
example to all who knew him. He will be missed by many but those that knew him
know that he is merely sleeping. He is resting at peace with his Creator.

Funeral Services will be for family only, at Garrison Park Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
