Obituary for Phillip Hatfield

Phillip Hatfield, age 84 of Mt Airy, MD, died Thursday, June 3rd, 2021, at Carroll Hospital Center, among family. He was a beloved husband of 64 years to his wife, Maudie (Fannin) Hatfield.
Phillip was born January 3rd, 1937, in McAndrews, Kentucky the son of the: late Thomas Jefferson Hatfield Sr and Lassie Jane (Smith) Hatfield. Phillip worked as an auto mechanic for Sunoco for over 39 years and could fix anything that had a motor. He was an avid hunter and fisher as well as a sports enthusiast. Phillip was a die-hard Kentucky Wild Cats and Green Bay Packers Fan. Phillip made annual hunting trips to Green Ridge Mountain with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had some of the best times of his life on that mountain and would look forward every year to going back. Phillip was notorious for being able to fix anything and passed his ingenuity and troubleshooting skills down to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phillip now joins his daughter Kathy Sue Hatfield, son Phillip Hatfield Jr and brother Thomas Jefferson Jr. He is survived by his remaining children Sharon Lynn (Hatfield) Flowers, Thomas Ray Hatfield, Jeffery Everett Hatfield and William Phillip Hatfield. Grandchildren Sherri Elaine (Flowers) Owen, Michael Alan Hatfield Flowers and Alan Lake Hatfield. Great Grandchildren Shane Andrew Owen, Emily Denise Owen, Isabella Marie Owen, Aubrey Catherine Flowers, Everly Quinn Flowers, Kendall Paige Hatfield, William Phillip Hatfield Jr, Carlie Samantha Hatfield and Michael Phillip Hatfield.
Phillip’s Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Monday, June 14th 2021 from 5-7 pm at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Winfield, Maryland 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
