Obituary for Phyllis A Lindsay-Hughes (Mack)

Richard G. “Richie” Hughes and his wife and companion of over 42 years, Phyllis A. Lindsay-Hughes both 85 of Sykesville, formerly of Roselle, NJ, passed away within months of each other this year. Richie on January 2, 2022 and Phyllis on April 5, 2022. Richie was born in Bayonne, NJ and was a son of the late Everette, Sr. and Gladys (Bauer) Hughes. Phyllis was born in Newark, NJ and was the daughter of the late Philip and Ann (Brannick) Mack. Prior to retiring Richie was in the Air Force, owned a body shop, bartended, and was a handyman. He loved the racetrack and his NY Giants. Phyllis worked as a receptionist and in retirement she, Richie, and their dogs enjoyed their country house at Indian Rocks at Lake Wallenpaupack, PA. She loved entertaining family on the holidays and enjoyed painting, crocheting, reading, and especially her dolls.
Survivors: daughter, Kathleen Harmon and husband Dean, Sykesville, MD; son, Joseph Lindsay and wife Drue Ann, Linden, NJ; grandsons Ronald Croddick and wife Holly, Westminster, MD; Philip Croddick and Katie Bowling, Forest Hill, MD; and Dean Harmon III and fiancé Rachale Hair, Etters, PA; great-grandchildren, Ivy and Charlie Croddick; sister, Irene Munley and husband, Chris; nieces; nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Philip, Lennie, and sister, Loretta Kieltyka. He was preceded in death by son, Rick, brother, Everette and sister, Myrtle Smith.
Services: There will be a visitation 11-1 PM Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784.
