Obituary for Russell William "Russ" Keiser

Russell William Keiser of Mt. Airy, MD passed away at home on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Mr. Keiser was 78 years old. He is the son of the late Russell L. Keiser and Ruth M. Neff of N. Canton, OH. He was born in Baltimore and graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic High School in 1960. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Master’s degree in business from the University of Maryland. He worked for Westinghouse and later went into sales, representing a number of electronic firms. Mr. Keiser is the founder of Integral Components, a cable assembly company, in Westminster, MD.
Russ was very involved in Scouting, earning the rank of Eagle and serving as a scout master. He was a talented wood worker. He was a lifelong collector of rocks and minerals and loved to share his knowledge with others. He was also a member of Stein Collectors International. He was a parishioner at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamilton and more recently, St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church in Westminster.
He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth Thim (Betty), his sons James and wife Virginia, William and wife Mary, and Matthew and wife Nancy. He also has six grandchildren Drew, Kevin, Benjamin, Kate, Brooke and T.J.
Friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Mask must be worn in the funeral home.
The funeral liturgy will take place on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church, 700 Krider’s Cemetery Rd. Westminster, MD 21158.
Inurnment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery 1125 St. Michael’s Road, Poplar Springs, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Legacy School, 115 Terrapin Dr. Sykesville, MD 21784 for a memorial scholarship fund to aid children with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences.
