Obituary for Willie Mae Johnson (Williams)

Willie Mae Johnson, 95 years old passed away in her sleep peacefully on July 6, around 5:20 am and woke up in the arms of Jesus. She was born in Rogersville, TN, but made her home in Wheaton, MD until she resided at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mount Airy, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. and Mrs. Charles Williams, her Husband Vernon H. Johnson, and sister Ruby Lovett. She is survived by brothers Claude Williams and wife Sharon in VA, Connor Williams and wife Martha in TN, Bill Williams and wife Karen in IN and sisters Helen Martinsen and Eunice Ramsey in CA. She was very active in the Church. She helped to start numerous churches along with her husband and children. She was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir at Montrose Baptist Church where she was a member. She raised 3 girls in a Christian home. Linda Jean Garvin along with her husband Ken, lives in North Carolina, Carol Ann Johnson in Wheaton, MD, and Debra Fay Culley along with her husband Frank, in Australia. She has 3 granddaughters, Susan Driver and husband Michael in MD, Jennifer Foltz in NC, and Megan Schargorodski and husband Brad in KY. She has 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will take place Friday, July 10, 2020 10 AM with the family receiving friends from 9 Am until time of service at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 1402 North Main St. Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
